Dr. Ruth Guyit boasts an impressive 46-year career dedicated to educating and supporting both youth and adults. Her expertise extends into the critical domains of Palliative and Counseling Care for individuals grappling with HIV/AIDS and substance abuse. Driven by her passion for community welfare, she honed her skills through grassroots mobilization and Palliative Care Counseling training in Uganda. Dr. Guyit’s commitment to youth empowerment led her to pursue further education in the United States, where she completed the University of Maryland’s program on Community Mobilization. This additional training equipped her with invaluable insights to address challenges related to drug abuse and social issues affecting young people.
Her leadership qualities shine through her role as the Executive Secretary of the Women’s Commission, where she served under two different governors in Plateau State. During her tenure, she played a pivotal role in distributing government palliatives and fertilizers across all 17 Local Government Areas. Dr. Guyit’s impact extends to organizing numerous state and national workshops aimed at empowering women. Furthermore, her community involvement spans various roles, including serving as the Women Leader in Mangu Local Government Area during her husband’s tenure as Local Government Chairman. Dr. Guyit’s extensive experience reflects her unwavering commitment to education, healthcare, and community development.
Dr. Ruth Guyit’s impressive career includes an essential role as the B.Ed Part-time Programme Coordinator at the University of Jos, Institute of Education, where she served for 8 years. This added responsibility showcases her dedication to academic excellence and her significant contributions to the educational and Leadership landscape.
